| 8/21 The Hezbollah terror organization based in S. Lebanon attacks Israel entirely unprovoked. The world stands by knowing Israel will crush Hezbollah. Except Israel doesn't crush Hezbollah, instead they are unable to stop the rocket attacks hitting their cities and in some cases cannot even move one mile inside Lebanon due to Hezbollah resistance. The once mighty Israeli army is defeated losing more than 20 tanks and hundreds of men while failing to capture much ground or recover their kidnapped soldiers. Operating under the assumption that Israel will wipe out the Hezbollah quickly, the Bush Administration miscalculates and selects a very politically correct position of refusing to sell Israel cluster bombs and panders to the to Arab street by equating Israeli dead with Hezbollah dead. Early in the crisis, Rice called for an immediate cease fire, switches positions to give Israel time, and then eventually signs up to a cease fire with France playing the lead roll of peace keeper. Less than a week after the cease fire, most of the peacekeeping countries have backed out including France. Hezbollah is now re-arming rapidly with even more deadly weapons and paying off the Lebanese civilians with Iranian oil money. Hezbollah and their leaders now have Sunni and Shiite popularity usually reserved for select historical Muslim figures like Saladin. Unfortunately, Iran and Syria are stronger and the American supported government in Iraq make vicious anti-Semitic remarks and discusses putting up war memorials to those that have killed Americans. Hezbollah still has an army on Israel's northern boarder that will endlessly harass Israel with missiles and border raids. Israel looks very weak and their government is now in crisis with their popularity at all time lows. Syria has removed the landmines along their border with Israel and moved their tanks forward as a new threat. As Reagan said "Peace comes through Strength", and the opposite is true. Expect more war in the Middle East very soon as Israel's military is tested by the genocidal Islamic fanatics to see if this loss was a fluke or the beginning of the end of the State of Israel. Unfortunately, this is just another loss, miscalculation, and political inept moment for the Bush Administration and the Republican Party. Since the War on "Terror" started Mauritania, Somalia, S. Lebanon have been lost to Islamic fascists. Iraq, Afghanistan, and N. Nigeria have or are close to implementing Islamic law which was one of the primary aims of Osama Bin Laden. While there have be a few select successes, like the major terror plot arrests in Britain, the overall trend remains discouraging. 7/1 Israel pulled out of the Gaza strip when former PM of Israel Ariel Sharon took this massive political risk.
So what did Israel gain by this unilateral move to withdraw from Gaza? The Palestinian terror group HAMAS won the next election, still refuses to recognize Israel, after pausing for a short time has now resume their nearly daily barrage of missiles into Israel ... except now they are closer, continues to attempt terror acts in Israel, and attacks and kidnaps Israeli soldiers. To this observer, the only change is Israel lost territory. The Arab world is condemning the Israeli attack on Gaza to re-gain their soldier and the Bush Administration is telling Israel to give diplomacy a chance. Middle East Arab appreciation last about one week, their anger about 1000 years. To this Positive Republican the war on terror is not a war of cultures. The war on terror is a war of civilization against barbarism rooted in Islam. The Middle East has been home to many great world civilizations and since Islam took over has sunk into barbarism and backwardness as their best and brightest became students of the Quran instead of science and art and the intellects within the new Muslim world fled for their lives. George Bush is kidding himself if he thinks that Democracy and Islam are compatible because Islam does not honor or recognize the rights of the individual as Christianity does. 6/30 Bush Administration invites the NY Times "traitors" to dinner. Here's the deal: Is the NY Times revelation of secret government programs to combat terrorism treason or not? The Bush Administration says it is, and Positive Republicans aren't sure. However, if it is treason as the Bush Administration says it is, then why are they inviting these traitors to dinner? Answer: The Bush Administration wants the political benefit that comes from painting a liberal paper with the treason brush and wounding them, however they don't want the hard work and hassle of backing their comments up with real action. A dinner invite is a good way of telling the NY Times that Bush is not serious and is just trying to score political points. As an American it is equally disheartening to have the NY Times treat secrets in a light manner and the Bush Administration only try to score political points while doing nothing. Which brings us back to the exposure of V. Plame as a CIA agent. It is equally disheartening that the Bush Administration exposed her, in whatever measure they did, as it is that she was an agent in the first place. When a "CIA Agent" is married to a political figure, cannot point to a single real assignment, is "undercover" when nothing she did was really undercover, suggests her husband for assignment - to which he gets assigned, and goes on the cover of Vanity Fair. Good Lord something is screwed up with the whole lot of them on Capital Hill. 6/20 Bush Administration gives weapons via Israeli Prime Minister Olmert via Mahmoud Abbas's to Palestinian HAMAS terrorists. Palestinian terrorists are gaining access to US M-16's and 1 million rounds of ammunition. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=50717 6/20 Excellent article, Arnaud de Borchgrave writes about Sayed Qutb! Sayed was the ideological founder of modern day Islamic terrorism and was killed in Egypt 1966. His books are still very popular among American Muslims as the 3rd most popular Islamic author. 6/19 From Compass Direct http://www.compassdirect.org/en/index.php/lead.php : 4 Christians arrested for praying in their private home in Saudi Arabia. Bush administration, State Department, Dave Reichert comments -- Nothing. When the US and our allies fought communism we supported every newspaper editor, every dissident, and used every example to point out the evils of Communism. Our President who likes to make friends with the most extreme from of Islam "Wahabbism" (the official state religion of Saudi Arabia) cannot seem to engage the fundamentalist Islam in the battlefield of ideas. Islamic Terrorism at it's core is an idea and needs to be fought with more than just bombs and metal detectors - we need a President who will fight the battle of ideas. Liberals need to stop their hatred of Christianity as Islam is a much bigger threat to secularism then Christianity ever was. 6/18 The Bush Administration decides to fund terrorist state. $120M is now being dispersed to the HAMAS (currently the largest terrorist organization in the world) government in Palestine, despite their recent threats to start a new more deadly terrorist anti-Israel campaign, even though Israel recently surrendered the Gaza Strip to HAMAS. This aid is in direct violation of US law and the "Bush Doctrine". The Bush Administration claims the aid is only for food and medicine. However, this aid allows HAMAS to spend their extra funds from Islamic States on weapons in their very open bait-and-switch funding HAMAS has used for more than a decade. What possible US benefit can come from this aid, why is our government so pathetically stupid? Below are two pictures of people from the Gaza Strip and West Bank cheering 9/11, the other photo is the van driven by US Government Agents who were killed in the West Bank. I wonder how the families of these victims feel knowing George Bush and Dave Reichert just gave these killers and terrorism supporters $120M.
You might be reading this and say "Be reasonable, clearly the US is trying to influence the Palestinians." Well, the US has been giving aid to the Palestinians for a very long time. For nearly a decade the aid amounted to about $3000 per year for every Palestinian family or a total of ~$600 to 700M per year from the US and our European allies. In return for all of this aid, the Palestinian government and there allies committed hundreds of acts of terror, killed US government agents, cheered 9/11, and the Palestinian people freely elected the first terrorist group to head a territory of any kind in the world. And what is George Bush's answer to this complete failure to appease the Palestinians? ... Answer: more money. I wonder how much life and property in New Orleans would have been saved if we had spent the money on levees.
| 50th District California Vote 06/08/06 - Bilbray (R) 49.3% defeats Busby (D) 45.5% 11/02/04 - Cunningham (R) 58.5% defeats Busby (D) 36.5% (R. Limbaugh was dishonest yesterday when he said that Democrats traditionally get 45% in this district. 11/05/02 - Cunningham (R) 64.4% defeats Stewart (D) 32.3%
Reality Check for Republicans: The Republican won by less than 4% in a heavily Republican District with over 2x the spending of his Democratic opponent. Bilbray rescued his campaign by running against Bush and caught a lucky break courtesy of Busby. Busby made a huge political error in telling illegal immigrates that they did not need papers to vote - with a recorder running. This is a massively positive signal to the Democrats that they are going to have a very enjoyable November. If this type of 9% swing occurs in the 8th district then Dave Reichert doesn't stand a chance. However, there is a long way from now till November and Bush still has an opportunity to balloon the size of government, convict our troops, nominate more incompetents, lose more countries to Islamic fascism, and hurricane season is just getting started.
Reality Check for Democrats: This seat may be in the D column today were it not for a major D screw up. Many people vote Republican because they cannot stand the Anti-American comments from so many in the Democratic party. I will accept that Busby's comment was a slip of the tongue.
Past News Flashes 6/18 Does anyone have a list of the people convicted under the Patriot Act and their crimes? The Washington Post has written an article that only 39 people convicted under the Patriot Act are terrorism related, and of the 39 people convicted most would have been convicted without or their arrest was unrelated to the Patriot Act i.e. Richard Reid and Moussaoui. According to the Washington Post, the Bush Administration is inflating the terrorism conviction numbers by about 10x. 6/17 Another victory however small: The Camp Pendleton confined Marines are reported to have had their shackles removed today. Perhaps George Bush is starting to feel more political heat for his "Guilty until proven otherwise" comments. So much for "Republicans" supporting the troops. To date: Dave Reichert has nothing on his website in support of our Marine POWs. Positive Republicans are wondering if being a moderate means only supporting the troops when you can get a good photo op and taking credit when these troops achieve success in the field. If Dave Reichert is unwilling to support our men, then we should not support him in November. Al-Zarqawi killed! 100% sincere congratulations to our Commander in Chief, the Men and Women in uniform, and CIA who made this wonderful event possible. Of course Dave Reichert, staying consistent with his opinion regarding WA state mass murderer Gary L. Ridgway, would have preferred Zarqawi lived so the victim's families could get closure by showing us where all the bodies were and save some of the $8 Billion per month we are spending on the war. However, true conservatives are quietly gratified Zarqawi has meet his maker. We also sincerely hope this victory allows the new Iraqi government a chance to gain control of their country and defeat the terrorist elements which remain.
